  • Enjoy a Safe and Happy Summer! We have come to the end of another wonderful school year here at Florence Meares School! It is a time to celebrate the learning and memories of many fun and exciting times throughout the year.  We have great students at FM and it is a pleasure to work with kids when they demonstrate so much enthusiasm, creativity, and spirit each day!   • Teacher Appreciation Week Thank you! All staff would like to extend a warm and sincere thank you to our Florence Meares community for an amazing week of surprise appreciations.  Staff were welcomed to a beautifully decorated staff room and thoughtfully decorated bulletin boards filled with expressions of appreciation from students, parents and community members.  Each day during the week of May 1, staff were surprised with treats including smoothies, selections of candy and hot chocolate, and delicious ice cream sundaes! On Friday, each staff member received a pine tree seedling with a booklet filled with notes of appreciation and thanks from students which were graciously received by all!  THANK YOU to all of our community members for your thoughtful contributions and a sincere thank you ...

  • Family Health and Wellness Night Our FM School Council is hosting a Family Wellness Night on Thursday, March 2 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. This exciting event is to promote healthy families through workshops including physical fitness, nutrition, and awareness around the connection between physical and mental wellness.  Families will have the opportunity to sign up for four sessions around these various topics.  The evening is free of charge and has been funded by the PRO (Parents Reaching Out) Grant from the Ministry of Education.  We are excited to learn together about active, healthy lifestyles that keep our minds and body well!  We look forward to seeing our FM families on March 2!

  • Kindergarten Registration Now Open The office is now accepting applications for Junior Kindergarten students who will be starting school in September 2017.  You may register your child any day between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.   To be eligible to attend Junior Kindergarten (JK), all children must be 4 years old by December 31, 2017. To attend Senior Kindergarten (SK), all children must be 5 years old by December 31, 2017.  Please Note: If your child is presently in JK you do not need to register them for SK.  Please bring the following documents with you: proof of Canadian Citizenship (birth certificate, passport or citizenship card), immunization Record, 2 pieces of proof of residential address (tax bill or proof of ...
