Meet Our Youth Settlement Specialist

Sahar Said is our Youth Settlement Specialist at Florence Meares and she is here to help!  Sahar is very keen and has a wealth of knowledge for our families.  

How  Sahar can Support:

• Meet with families that need additional support in their transition to life in Halton (access to community resources, access to technology, access to legal services, etc…)

• Educate families on the HDSB student experience (i.e. student services, IEPs, understanding report cards, setting up school Apps, etc.)

• Provide group sessions on a variety of topics including; how to report absences, what nutrition breaks look like, volunteering, winter preparedness and much more!

• Support families who might not be new to Halton but might not be fully accessing resources the Board services due to cultural/language barriers.
